A Davie man who fled the scene of a fatal car crash last year was sentenced today to 11 years and six months in prison, followed by 10 years of probation, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Investigators said the man struck a car while both were traveling west on Interstate 595. The man left the scene just east of the University Drive exit, but troopers tracked him down and obtained blood samples.

Tests showed his blood alcohol level was .22, about three times the legal limit, authorities said.
