A 13-year-old boy was killed in a car accident when the go-kart he was driving was hit by an SUV. The incident happened shortly before 4 p.m. Monday near Northeast 199th Street and 11th Avenue.
The teenager was airlifted to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he later died. The man driving the SUV, a Dodge Durango, was not cited.
It should be known that motorized go-karts are not licensed or equipped to be used on public roadways in Florida.
