jet ski 1.jpgA 17-year-old boy on an inner tube that was being pulled by a personal watercraft was seriously hurt when the tube crashed into the embankment of a canal in Davie, Florida.

An investigation was being conducted into whether speed or alcohol were factors in the boating accident, officials said. A teenager was driving the watercraft, said commission spokesman Jorge Pino. Under Florida law, anyone under 21 operating a watercraft has to have a Boating Safety Education card. The commission will look into whether the teen operating the watercraft had such a card, Pino said.

This is a sad reminder to use common sense when on the water. Speed kills!
