florida panther.jpgA Florida panther was killed when it was struck by an automobile in Broward County. This was the first reported death of a panther in Broward County where the cause was a car accident. The accident occurred on I-75 where most of the highway is surrounded by a chain link fence to prevent wildlife from walking onto the interstate. Unfortunately, this accident took place in an area without the chain link fence. Road kills are the second leading cause of panther deaths in Florida. Only fights between panthers ranks higher.
