Dog Bite Victims - What to Do Following the Attack

4. Obtain immunization information from the owner of the assailant animal following the dog bite or animal bite to determine if its shots are up to date.

5. Contact your local police department to file a police report and have witness statements recorded.

6. Contact your local animal control office to report to the dog bite.

7. Photograph the wounds to preserve evidence of the extent of the bites/puncture marks.
